Books:

1.  Title:: Smartest Guys in the Room: The Amazing Rise and Scandalous Fall of Enron
Author:: Bethany McLean
Comments:: The "Who, What, When, Where, and Why" of the Enron scandal. Written by two Fortune magazine reporters. Provides great insight
2.  Title:: Liar's Poker: Rising Through the Wreckage on Wall Street
Author:: Michael Lewis
Comments:: A personal account of life at Wall Street's most successful firm in the 1980s: Salomon Brothers. Very funny stories. A must read for anyone interested in bond trading or I-banking.
3.  Title:: Monkey Business
Author:: John Rolfe
Comments:: A definite read for anyone crazy enough to want to be an investment banker. Warning: The authors use a little male locker room humor. Their stories are all true though.
4.  Title:: Ugly Americans : The True Story of the Ivy League Cowboys Who Raided the Asian Markets for Millions
Author:: Ben Mezrich
Comments:: Written by the best selling author of "Bringing Down the House", this book tells the story of hedge funds and derivative trading in Japan by American expatriates. Very entertaining, even if some poetic license was taken when compiling story.
5.  Title:: DisneyWar
Author:: James B. Stewart
Comments:: Acclaimed non-fiction author, James B. Stewart, dives into the history of the Walt Disney Company. He digs up some real dirt about the people running one of the largest entertainment companies on the planet. All the backstabbing and drama is revealed in great detail.

Movies:

1.  Title:: Wall Street
Director:: Oliver Stone
Movie Quote:: "The point is ladies and gentlemen that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of it's forms - greed for life, for money, knowledge - has marked the upward surge of mankind and greed - you mark my words - will not only save Teldar Paper but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA. Thank you."
Comments:: The definitive business movie!
2.  Title:: Glengarry Glen Ross
Director:: James Foley
Movie Quote:: "A-B-C. A-Always, B-Be, C-Closing. Always be closing, always be closing."
Comments:: Incredible acting.
3.  Title:: Boiler Room
Director:: Ben Younger
Movie Quote:: "You become an employee of this firm, you will make your first million within three years. I'm gonna repeat that - you will make a million dollars."
Comments:: A modern day "Wall Street". Not as good as the original, but very entertaining.
4.  Title:: Trading Places
Director:: John Landis
Movie Quote:: "Think big, think positive, never show any sign of weakness. Always go for the throat. Buy low, sell high. Fear? That's the other guy's problem. Nothing you have ever experienced will prepare you for the unlimited carnage you are about to witness. Superbowl, World Series - they don't know what pressure is. In this building, it's either kill or be killed. You make no friends in the pits and you take no prisoners. One moment you're up half a mil in soybeans and the next, boom, your kids don't go to college and they've repossessed your Bentley. Are you with me?"
Comments:: A Classic!
5.  Title:: Office Space
Director:: Mike Judge
Movie Quote:: Dom Portwood: Hello, Peter. What's happening? We need to talk about your TPS reports. Peter Gibbons: Yeah. The coversheet. I know, I know. Uh, Bill talked to me about it. Dom Portwood: Yeah. Uh, did you get that memo? Peter Gibbons: Yeah. I got the memo. And I understand the policy. The problem is, I just forgot this one time. And I've already taken care of it so it's not even a problem anymore. Dom Portwood: Yeah. It's just that we're putting new coversheets on all the TPS reports *before* they go out now. So if you could just remember to do that from now on, that'd be great. All right!
Comments:: Great movie! A must see!
